Overtone Singing for BEGINNERS
(L0 - L1)
BASIC COURSE:
The basic course can be attended by everyone, especially who never sang before: in fact overtone singing is a type of chant that can be done without knowing how to sing. The concept of "out of tune" simply doesn't exists in overtone singing.
Starting with simple but essential exercises, you can learn how to optimize breathing and develop an effective speaking voice.
Meanwhile, you will refine your listening skills through individual and team activities. After that, you'll learn to sing two notes at the same time using the first overtone singing techniques.
The basic course has no musical theory contents.
The main purpose is to find the fundamental notes that works best for each student, and to help them to achieve a relaxing and pleasant vocal timbre with clear overtones. Skilled students will also be able to move overtones back and forth while humming one fundamental note constantly.
Overtone Singing for ADVANCED
(L2 - L3)
ADVANCED COURSE:
The advanced course is for people who can already bring out loud and clear overtones. With our teaching method, students will be able to refine their skills though ear-training, they will learn many overtone melodies and throat singing styles, like the 5 essential styles of Tuvan Throat Singing (khöömei, sygyt, kargyraa, borbangnadyr and ezengileer), and Sardinian throat singing styles derived from "Canto a Tenore". It will be also covered another important topic: POLYPHONIC OVERTONE SINGING, where the singer moves the fundamental pitch and its overtones at the same time, performing very complex musical pieces.
Individual lessons
(Overtone Singing and/or Modern singing techniques)
In the freetime, teachers will be available for private lessons... while other students are sunbathing/swimming in the sea.
Raphael De Cock
SPECIAL GUEST
From belgium, ethnomusicologist Raphael De Cock comes in Sardinia for a demonstrative conference, followed by an advanced workshop about Tuvan throat singing and other throat singing styles.
He will also give individual lessons for advanced throat singers.

VOCAL HEALTH for
Overtone/Throat Singers
with Dr. Alessandro Sanna
Two sections: theorical and practical. First section ( theorical - 1hour and 30 minutes) will be about: -introducing anatomy and physiology of the vocal tract and its functioning in relationship with professional uses of the voice, mainly in singing. -introducing speech terapist's professional peculiarities relatively to professional usage of the voice. -taking charge on a singer without vocal-disease(preventive therapy) as well as taking charge on a singer with vocal-diseases(rehabilitation therapy) Second section (practical - 2hours and 30 minutes) will be about: -introducing techniques for increasing performance's quality in a short range perspective(clarifying the difference between a short range and a long range perspective, achievable only through a synergistic work between singing teacher and speech terapist),adding useful notions about warming-up and cooling-down techniques, unconstricting larynx and pharynx, increasing resonating, moving and equilibrating capabilities. Each section will be done with the support of professional softwares, which will allow to view and analyze vocal-modifications in real time.

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF VOICE
with Dr. Arianna Sechi
In this workshop, Dr. Arianna will guide us through the various meetingpoints between voice, psychology, existentialism and art.
Warming Up
Before each activity there will be a brief warm-up to get body and mind well-prepared.
Special topics and mini-workshops
Once the group is formed, we'll provide special topics depending on needs and skill-levels, even with expert guests!
Open singing
Every evening there will be vocal jam sessions inspired by circle songs. Bring your instruments too!
The Final Performance
Let's hop on stage!
During this week we'll prepare a live concert to be performed in the hall of a nearby hotel. The main goal is to perform all together as an overtone choir, as well as solo pieces or smaller groups, and even instrumental pieces.
